Market Watch: Fort Worth

The key is to invest in a city where prices are still low, yet there is the possibility for a lot of growth. The next city in our Market Watch series provides just that. While many investors would think Dallas the hot spot in Texas, it is its sister city that is the talk of the flipping market for 2014.

good markets to invest inFort Worth-Arlington, Tex. is hitting the top for many of the Best Buy Cities lists. The city offers homes that are with in reach for middle-class Americans, at $168,383 in Fort Worth-Arlington. Prices in greater Fort Worth are considered 20% below their actual value, according to Local Market Monitor. Many surveys predict that North Texas will be one of the best places in the country in the year ahead for both development and investment.

For buyers who intend to rent out their homes, the populations in these cities are growing at a healthy clip. In the period from 2009 to 2012 there was a growth of  4.9% in Fort Worth.  At that rate, it is one of the fastest-growing city on the Best Buy Cities list. It also ranked fifth on the annual Emerging Trends in Real Estate “markets to watch” list. The area’s booming housing sector and strong industrial property business helped move the market up from ninth place last year.

The Dallas-Fort Worth economy will continue to benefit from high concentrations of technology, corporate headquarters operations, excellent distribution infrastructure and above-average population gains. It remains attractive to employers and employees alike due to its highly competitive cost of living and doing business. Fort Worth is the 16th-largest city in the United States of America and the fifth-largest city in the state of Texas. Wikipedia
