Flipping Houses: That 70’s House
I am sure most of you remember that show that gave us Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis, you know That 70’s Show? Well, our next project in our flipping houses series could have been the Forman’s neighbors.
That 70’s House was purchased from an individual as an Estate sale with the intent of flipping it. As you can see, the previous owner was unable to keep it up.
Kitchen and Baths
As always, the 2 main areas of focus when flipping houses are the kitchen and baths. When working on rooms that were last touched during the previous millennium, a little extra effort is needed.
Family Room / Living Room
Basement
Normally, finishing the basement is not part of what we do when flipping houses. It is seldom a good return. However, our market analysis shows that there is a significant difference in this neighborhood between houses that have partially-finished basements and those that do not. We will have to do the analysis on this house to see if it makes sense. Regardless, we have to fix the leaks and trim the ivy.
Landscaping
Mother Nature has used the decades of neglect to reclaim some of her territory. Hopefully, she doen’t decide to drop a large limb on the house anytime soon.
Of course, the house also needs new paint, flooring, and lighting. Due to the age and condition, we added a little extra in contingency, but profit-eating surprises can always pop-up. Stay tuned in the next few weeks to see what we do with That 70’s house.
